4 Movie Suggestions For Movie Night

It's the last day of July and I figured I'd share a few movie suggestions with you guys today, to end the month with some entertainment that you'll not only enjoy but can learn from too.

1. Facing the Giants

If you're a fan of the Kendrick Brothers' movies (Overcomer and War Room being two of their movies), you'll be sure to enjoy this one. Facing the Giants is about a high school football coach who has never won a season. His challenges with the team and in his personal life push him to seek God and adopt a new approach to life, which he puts into practise both on and off the field.

This movie not only talks about trusting God when it seems hard and impossible to do, but reminds us that no matter what we're facing, big or small, God will always be there to guide us through and bring us to victory.

2. Home Sweet Home

Can you really fake faith? And all to impress someone? Victoria finds herself joining a volunteer group for a local church, all to impress the director of the ministry that builds affordable houses. But as Victoria pretends to act like a Christian, she slowly finds herself starting to understand what it means to be a real Christian as well as the things that really matter in life.

3. To Save A Life

This movie is about a high school basketball star who, after the death of an old friend, begins to turn his life around. He starts seeking God and takes the chance to reach out to others in his school who feel lonely or socially unaccepted. Throughout his new journey, he experiences different bumps on the road, ones that will put his new-found faith and trust in God to the test.

This movie deals with a lot of social issues that we as Christian youth may not talk a lot about but it doesn't mean they aren't happening. It teaches us to reach out to those who are in desperate need of a listening ear and a lending hand, especially when they feel alone or cast out. To share God's love with them as we experience it ourselves.

4. Be Still and Know

Four girls decide to spend their school break in an old cabin, belonging to the deceased grandfather of one of them. While there, they realise that things are not as they remembered and after finding themselves stuck, they notice that there is danger lurking around them. Faith and friendship are tested during these trying times.

This movie is not a horror one, don't worry. But it does have a lot of suspense for those who are interested in a little thrill and excitement. Be Still and Know teaches us to put our trust in God especially when it seems like we're surrounded by danger. It also teaches that no matter how things may change in our lives, we shouldn't let life change our faith in God or the true friendships we make.

Hope you enjoy these suggestions. Have a great day and weekend.

Stay blessed and stay a blessing.
