Why Thanksgiving Should Be Everyday

Hello lovelies!

Hope you've all had a great week. I know my week has been rather stress induced but still we move. And we thank God in all things. Speaking of giving thanks, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! to everyone who celebrates it (I know I'm a day late but, oh well). We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in UK, although for some reason Black Friday and Cyber Monday are still major events.

Anyway, although we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here, it doesn't mean we can't thank God. Every day for us should be Thanksgiving, although the good food and turkey won't always be present.

There are so many things God does for us each day that we don't even realise. I know sometimes when something bad happens, we're quick to complain to God, yet when it's time for us to show our gratitude, we brush it off like it's nothing.

But the truth is, when we actually sit down and reflect on everything going on in our lives, we begin to realise all the blessings that we're showered with, even the ones in disguise.

The people in our lives are one of the many good things that we're fortunate to have. Parents, siblings, cousins, friends, that friendly neighbour, that McDonald's worker that adds that one extra chicken nugget to your order; they're all blessings.

It's so easy to take so many things for granted. The saying that you don't truly appreciate something until it's gone is so true and I'm pretty sure we've all experienced it. Losing a loved one, that stable job that you somehow still always complained about or even your favourite book. We tend to overlook the true value of something until we don't have it anymore. And that's when the regret starts eating away inside of us.

Don't be that person that has to lose something in order for you to see its true worth. Spend time with the people in your life because you never know when you'll see them last. Always be thankful for what you have, and stop complaining about what you don't.

Actions of thanksgiving speak louder than words.

To truly show that you're thankful for what you have, you have to show that you cherish it with all your heart. As the Quote of the day states:

“Give thanks not just on Thanksgiving Day, but every day of your life. Appreciate and never take for granted all that you have.”– Catherine Pulsifer

Let every day be Thanksgiving. Let those around you know how much you appreciate them. Let God know how much you appreciate Him.

And with what you're thankful for, don't forget to give others a chance to have a taste of those blessings, through your acts of kindness and by giving from the heart.

I'm thankful for my family and friends, the ones I talk to and the ones who I hardly even communicate with now. I'm thankful for knowing God, for having an education and good health. And I'm also thankful for you guys and all your support with this blog.

What are you thankful for? Don't forget to leave your comments below or through email. Love ya'll!

Stay blessed and stay a blessing.
