Tips for Tough Times

HELLO LOVELIES!!!

I know you haven't heard from me in a while, besides the daily quotes. This past week of university has just been stressful. Deadlines are one of the worst things ever. But we thank God that I've been able to get through it.

Honestly, I got to a point when I really just wanted to give up. I was doubting myself and my abilities a lot; wondering if I was even cut out to be a future engineer. Yeah guys, it really gets to that point sometimes.

But I wanted to share a few tips that kept me going through these past stressful days and hopefully it encourages you and reminds you that you're not alone and that things will get better.

1. It's ok to cry.

Honestly, it really is. Yes, crying doesn't change your situation or fix your problem. But sometimes, crying helps relieve a little of the stress you're facing. Holding things in, is really unhealthy, so just let it out and don't hold back. But after you've had a good cry, dry your eyes and look to God.

2. Talk to God

I think we tend to forget sometimes that we're human and that we can't do everything, no matter how hard we try and how much effort we put in to something. We really can't handle all our problems by ourselves.

And it's ok, because that's why God is there. Talking to Him when you're going through a tough time is very comforting. He gives you the strength to go on when you feel like giving up and an inner peace that transcends the chaos that's going on in your life. So talk to Him when you feel like giving up. Remember that He cares so much about you.

3. Talk to someone if you feel depressed

University, and life in general, can take a toll on our mental health. Even though a lot of people would not like to admit that they are depressed or mentally ill, they actually are.

Please, if you feel that you're having issues with your mental health, talk to someone about it. Don't quietly try to endure it by yourself. There's no shame in seeking help to improve your mental state, especially when it you need to seek professional guidance. Remember, a healthy mind makes a happy life.

Check up on friends and loved ones because you never know what someone might be going through. They may be too shy to bring it up so you must sometimes do the interrogation.

4. Know that things will pass

You're not going to be stuck in your situation forever. It will eventually pass away. So don't be discouraged. Be strong, endure and persevere.

These are just a few tips on getting through hard times, especially in school. Hope you all have a blessed day and continue to shine in the light of God.

Stay blessed and stay a blessing.
