Hello lovelies! I hope you're all enjoying the festive season. Wishing you all a late Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.
It's been a while since my last post but I'm back just in time for the very last post of 2020.
What a crazy year it's been, huh? Who would have thought last year that so much would end up changing in our lives? I guess it's true that we may make our plans but God ultimately has the final say. In the blink of an eye, things can take a very unexpected turn, and they did. From World War 3 rumours, to the Black Lives Matter movement, to a global pandemic and natural disasters, it seems as though we've been through a lot, making this year a very memorable one.
Looking back, I remember the goals I'd set for myself and the things I planned to do. And even though the pandemic changed a lot of plans, I can proudly say that I was still able to complete a few of my goals. For example, I finally finished writing a book, something I've never been able to do. I also learnt a lot of new guitar skills and was able to finish reading the entire Old Testament. There were so many things I also wish I could have accomplished but through it all, I'm grateful to God and proud of what I was able to achieve, even if it wasn't everything on my list.
In light of that, I want to remind us all that, despite all the things we weren't able to do, missed out on or even lost, we should remember to look at the good that came out of this year as well. Maybe your relationship with God improved, or you finally started that business you had been dreaming of. Perhaps those months of lockdown forced you to learn a new skill or you were able to find time to relax and improve your mental health. Whatever it was, whether it seemed like a milestone or something insignificant, the fact that you're still alive to look back and remember it is enough cause to be thankful.
I've come to realise that there were so many things we took for granted. Being able to see family and friends, good health, oxygen. Something as simple as a hug has been considered dangerous because of the pandemic, and giving hugs is something imbedded in my system. It's funny how you don't realise the impact of something until it's taken away from you. So in addition to being thankful for the good that came out of this year, we need to remember not to take anything for granted.
And though we will try to forget the pain and trouble this year might have brought, we need to remember to learn from it in order to move on. Yes, many bad things happened, but it is from hardship that we are able to grow. Let this year be the year that taught you how to grow from the hardship and all the changes that came your way.
Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
~Philippians 3:13-14
I pray that as we say goodbye to 2020, we remember these three things: be thankful for the good times, learn from the hardships and never take anything for granted. Thank you all so much for making my year a great one, and I hope EuniqueBlogs helped in positively impacting your year as well.
Wishing you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year!
