Today's post is by my friend Princess Asante. She usually posts mini TED talks on her WhatsApp status from time to time and this time, I asked if I could share this particular one.
The brief backstory to the quote above is that John G Lake, a missionary in South Africa in the early 1900's, was helping doctors during the outbreak of a plague. He miraculously never got infected and was asked why, and the statement above was his response. He asked that the live, deadly germs be placed in his hands and after observing under a microscope, the doctors found that the germs were dead. This demonstrated the amazing power of God and the Truth in His Word when He said that he would let no harm come to us.
So here's Princess' TED talk.
In kingdom business, there are principles to be followed to yield certain results. Christianity isn’t magic. Faith is not foolishness. We work with kingdom and spiritual principles to yield results. Example:
1. Tithing.
It’s a kingdom principle for wealth. The Scripture says:
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”
~Malachi 3:10 NKJV
Follow this principle diligently and see if it won’t work for you.
2. Giving
Giving is another kingdom principle of wealth. The richest man in recent history, Rockefeller, (a net worth of more than 200 billion US dollars) was a staunch Christian. Even as a child, he would diligently give his tithe. He gave over 500 million dollars to the work of God in his time. See how God blessed him.
In the same manner, healing works on another kingdom principle. Health works on a kingdom principle. John G. Lake said “the law of the Spirit of life”. There were—and still are— laws governing how he was able, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to destroy the germs on his hand.
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
~Romans 8:2 NKJV
Things of the Spirit work by rules. It’s not magic. When a man of God commands a demon out of a man, or heals a sick person, or prophesies, he’s doing so according to the principles set in place. He’s not just saying “Be healed”, or “Out!” Because it sounds powerful.
Even Jesus told His disciples that a certain kind of demon would not come out unless by prayer and fasting. One time he told a blind man that he should go, his faith has made him well; another time he mixed spit and mud and put it in his eyes. Different situations require different principles.
Over-fanaticism is not faith. Fantasy is not faith. Foolishness is not faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. By the Word because it is the constitution governing all things. It shall not pass away. If you cry for healing without a scriptural backing, there’s a possibility that, unless by Gods mercy, you won’t get it.
I have faith for certain things because it is written! Christianity isn’t sentimentality. Tears don’t always move God if they aren’t backed by the Word. He is a Father, but He’s also a judge! Go and read your Bible and learn the principles!
Christians worldwide are living in bondage because they don’t know the principles that could lead to their freedom. They are sick, but the word says:
“And the inhabitant will not say, “I am sick”; The people who dwell in it will be forgiven their iniquity.”
~Isaiah 33:24 NKJV
They live in poverty, but the Word says that He desires that we prosper! Why???
Please. Please. Please again. This is not a joke. We are at war. We are in a battle. Satan hasn’t stopped working. Get off your lazy posterior and start wielding the weapon given you. It works, I can testify. Seriously. Working the Word over your situation works! In this time of Coronavirus, work the word over your life.
Psalm 118:17, Jeremiah 33:6. Look for Scriptural backing. And use it.
