5 Promises To Remember This Month

It's important in this season that we always remember to encourage others and ourselves, especially when things seem hard. Fortunately for us as children of God, we can put our hope and faith in Jesus Christ, the author and Finisher of Our Faith. Jesus is the Word and it's in God's Word that we find comfort, joy and encouragement in times of struggles.

I've been reading the Old Testament and found out that the books of Isaiah and Jeremiah have a lot of promises and guarantees that God made to the Israelites, despite their rebellion against Him. I figured I'd share a few with you guys that would encourage you in the days ahead. So here are five promises from God's Word to help you get through this new month.

1. ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ -Jeremiah 33:3

I once heard a comment that this verse was God's phone number. God basically tells us here that all we need to do is call Him and He promises to answers us and tell us great and unsearchable things that we don't even know; things that we'd never thought of or imagined.

This month, whenever you face uncertainties about your future or even have doubts about things going on in your life, remember to call on God and according to His Will, He will reveal to you the answers you seek and more.

2. If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land;

- Isaiah 1:19

God promises here that we will prosper in the midst of hardships and chaos, and that we will enjoy benefits rather than being in need. This is only if we are willing to submit to His Will and are obedient to His commands and to Him.

God is not some dictator trying to run your life, He's rather a loving Father who wants what's best for you and if you let Him and give your heart, mind, soul and will to Him, He will bless you with many things even when the situation around you doesn't seem favourable.

3. But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine." - Isaiah 43:1

For anyone feeling low this month, here's a reminder that you are made wonderfully and fearfully by the Creator of galaxies and amazing sunsets. God's promise here is that you have been redeemed, saved from fear, hurt, worthlessness, trials and tribulations. He promises that you will always be His, no matter what you do or what you're suffering from.

Just know that you can always run back to Him because He is not a God who shuns you after you go down the wrong path. He is the good shepherd who leaves the 99 just to find you, the lost sheep.

4. You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. - Isaiah 26:3

With so much chaos going around, God's perfect peace is one thing that we definitely need in this season. He gives peace to those who fix their minds to Him, and not just any peace. His Perfect Peace. When we put our trust in God despite the situations we may be facing, His peace gives us the strength to carry on instead of giving up like most people would.

5. “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” - Jeremiah 17:7-8

Water is an essential part of the growth of a tree, so a tree planted near a stream will most likely flourish because it has an immediate and bountiful source of water to enable it to thrive.

This is how we are described when we put our trust in God. We continue to prosper despite the hardships that may come our way. God promises to make us flourish like trees planted by a stream, if only we trust in Him and let Him lead us in the right path.

As you go through the month, I hope these promises remind you to continue to put your trust in the Lord, no matter what may come up. And don't forget to encourage others even as you encourage yourself.

Hope these words from God's Word keep you motivated. What other promises would you like to share? Feel free to write them in the comments below or email/message me on social media.
